Day 120

Rapids was Rapids and Lynx was super dead so I got to leave an hour early :) I was excited for the soccer tournament. I got there and waited for Greg. And waited. And waited. And waited. 2 hours I waited until I left. I could have left sooner but it was fun watching soccer again. It made me want to play. I also talked to my daddy on the phone for a while. It was good to hear his voice :) After that, I came home and watched Fool's Gold, the movie Lisa sent me in my care package. Then I caught the bus to property and went to the Music of Denali Dinner Show. It was really funny and cute. The story is about the first people to climb to the summit, but it was different than you might imagine. It was cheesy and adorable and hilarious. I went with Liz, Trisha and Anna. Liz and Trisha had seen it a few times before this and they said this was the best one they had seen. I want to see it again now. The dinner part wasn't that spectacular, but it was nice to go out. I work in the morning :/ 10 days left and I am home. Tomorrow is the September 11th 10th Anniversary. I think that the memorial is so cool. I have only seen it being built, but it is so beautiful and I hope to see it someday. Liz thinks I should visit her in North Carolina and then we can go to NYC. Probably not. I still have to figure out the whole Utah thing.

Day 117, 118 and 119

Day 117: So thankfully today, I was told that Dre would not be working with us. Tad denied Emily's request for a transfer. I ended up staying until 4 at Lynx today. Long day= OT! I was hoping to hike Healy for Mallory's birthday, but that didn't happen. When I finally got home, I took an hour nap then got up and got ready for Mallory's birthday dinner. It ended up being Mallory, Kacie, Sapphire, Rick, Terry, Max, Kelly(guy) and I. Deeter was going to go but he felt sick. We went to Black Diamond for dinner. It was a really nice place. I got halibut and it was tasty! After that, I came home and went to bed. I was so exhausted throughout dinner.

Day 118: Today was my day off :) I slept in until noon and then had lunch with Megan at Homestead. Kelly(girl) came and sat with us. She eats like a pig. We had sloppy joes and it was all over her face. She makes me want to not eat. After that, Megan and I went into the Canyon and took Old Time Photos :) That was cool. We dressed in long dresses with guns. I think a bunch of us girls are going to go back and do a 'hoochie shoot'. :) When I got home, I cleaned my room and did laundry. It was a nice day.

Day 119: I am so sick of Nadia! She is always complaining about people not doing stuff when she is the one who does EVERYTHING before anyone else can have a chance to do it. I am so glad I am almost done working with her! Lynx was supposed to get busy but it didn't really. I was going to take a nap when I got home, but I didn't. I got a package from Lisa today. It was a 'girls night out in a box'. It had the movie Fool's Gold and some snacks in it. It was a nice surprise. I went upstairs with Anna and we played Monopoly (which I won :) because of my shoe). While we were playing, I was also on Facebook. I got an update from Sebastian saying he was at the LMFAO concert. I told him I was jealous and he asked if I was home and then said when I get to Seattle, if there are any good concerts, we should go together :) It made more of my day. Then I watched Rango. On my way to bed after the movie, Greg(my HT) stopped me and asked me if I worked tomorrow and if I liked soccer. I said yes to both and he asked if I wanted to go watch a soccer tournament at the school a few blocks away. I said ya. Do you realize that is 2 dates in 2 hours!?!?!?!? I have never had anything close to that happen ever! It was awesome. I was about to go to bed when I saw Megan and she looked upset. I asked if she wanted to talk and we did for an hour or so. I was going to stay up and see the northern lights, but it was too cloudy to see them. I better see them by the end of the season. 12 days left!!!!!!

Day 116

Today was an interesting day. At Rapids, Emily surprised us today. She said she was going nuts down at River Run because Dre was being retarded and complaining about everyone and everything like she does everyday. I couldn't stand working with her. Emily said she wants Dre to know she has it good at River Run and she wants her to know it could be worse. So, unfortunately for me, she will be working at Rapids and Lynx now instead of Liz. So now I work with Tony, Nadia and Dre all day! 15 days..... I can do it. Lynx got busy so I had to stay late. I could have left at 1, but Rick decided that he didn't want to actually work while at work, so he sat at the bar and let Jessica stay in charge. Oh well. After that, I went out with Anna because she wanted to go spend her money.  I convinced her otherwise since she still hasn't bought a plane ticket.

I came home and took a nap for a few hours. I woke up around 8 :) I took a shower and then watched Glee and Raising Hope :) On Glee, Sue's sister died and there was a funeral and it made me cry because she was saying things about her sister I see in Adam. I miss him!

Tomorrow will hopefully be a half day and so I can go hike Healy for Mallory's birthday. I have Thursday off and I am glad I have a day off finally.

Day 114 and 115

Day 114: I was pretty tired this morning. I never ended up staying up to see the lights. I guess they didn’t come out anyways. But Nadia asked me to carry her bag today because it was ‘too heavy’ and I didn’t, so later she was talking to Tony and said ‘Kylee is taking it(my tiredness) out on me’; just because I didn’t carry her bag. She is dumb. I stayed at Lynx until 2 today. I was going to watch Les Mis with J today, but she didn’t get off work in time so we didn’t. I got a nap and it was awesome! Shrek and Shrek 2 were on TV today so I watched bits and pieces of them before and after my nap. I also saw the Simpsons J It has been far too long! I may work at Mammoth Lakes in California this winter. It is becoming more of a possibility everyday. I will miss the Breaking Dawn and Hunger Games premiers though, unless I drive to wherever a theater is. There is only 17 days left J

Day 115: Today was Nadia-less! I was glad. I am tired of working with her. I had Lynx today and got off at 1. Then I had my River Run/Rapids appreciation party at Lynx. We laughed a lot. Then Liz and I went across the street and went shopping. I bought a pretty painting and sent it home. It was 75% off because there was a flaw. It was still $90, but it is so pretty. I am so excited to have a pretty piece of artwork that will always remind me of Alaska. I then ran into Tad, one of the Food and Beverage managers. I asked him how I would go about getting hired as a manager or supervisor next year and he said ‘nothing, I was hoping you were coming back next year anyways. If you didn’t, it would be a huge company loss” I told him I was having a hard time doing register because it was too easy and he said that he thought I should have been his boss since the beginning! Haha. I was telling him I want to be on higher management and he said I should apply for the GM’s job in December. GM at 22, that would be crazy. I doubt it would happen because I have only been with this company a year, but who knows. Then I came home. I also talked to Dani and Mommy. Bed early tonight, the lights should be good, so I am going to wake up at midnightish to see if they are out!

Day 112 and 113

Day 112: Work was slow as usual at Rapids. Lynx was another story. We got really busy and of course I ended up having to stay late. I was in such a bad mood today there..... I came home and just flipped through the channels for 2 hours and then got up and watched Les Miserables with Anna and Kate. It was fun :) I ended up going to bed really late.

Day 113: Rapids was slow and Lynx was too. I got an employee evaluation from Emily today and all I can say is that I am amazing! haha I came home and took a nap. I missed the beginning and ending of the UO/LSU game. I know we ended up losing pretty bad. Oh well. I had EDR dinner for the first time in about 2 weeks and it wasn't too bad today. I ended up watching Les Mis again, but with Anna, Liz and Trisha. I will probably watch it again tomorrow because Steven wants to watch it with me. I should go to bed now because it is 11pm and I work at 4 and it should be busy tomorrow, but I want to stay up and try to see the Northern Lights. Possibly Monday night I will do that. I will sleep all afternoon, so I can get up to see them.

Day 109, 110, 111

Day 109: I had work.

Day 110: Yesterdays blog was pointless really... I went to work and when I came home, I took a nap and didn't wake up until work the following morning. 3pm-3am. It was pretty nice! Today I had work again. I only worked a half day so I was off at 930. I would normally take a nap after that since it was early, but since I slept so much yesterday I knew a nap was pointless. I came home, got into normal people clothes, and took the bus back to property. I met Robert and Trisha at Lynx. We had pizza. Then we all came home. We decided that we were going to go to the dance at Salmon Bake, so they took a nap. I still  had a few hours before we were going to go out, so Anna and I went to property and sat in the hot tubs for 2 hours and then got dinner at Cruisers. We sat with Kate and Kelly and laughed a lot. After dinner, we took the shuttle home and I watched Kate's Les Miserables 10th Anniversary Concert on DVD. We got ready and took the shuttle to property to go to Salmon Bake. Bre ended up coming with us too. It was fun. The music was all Bulgarian. They have fun music.  We stayed out late and caught the 215 shuttle back home. It was so early, but it was nice to actually go out and do something. I had fun dancing with Trisha, Robert and Bre. I got home around 230 and then went to bed.

Day 111: So at 7am, the fire alarm went off. Someone thought it would be funny to pull the fire alarm. It wasn't funny to me. Oh well.... They will get in trouble for it! haha. I went back to bed after that and finally got out of bed at 1ish. When Anna got home from work, we went to 49th since I hadn't eaten at all since last night. I finished Les Mis. If I was home now, I would be seeing Les Mis in person in either Portland or Seattle. I am sad I am missing it since it won't be back for a while, but I am glad I came to Alaska. People keep asking me if I am going to be coming back next summer. I haven't decided yet. If I do come back next year, I want management or something. I can't come back and be under people who don't understand the job and its qualifications. My lead at Lynx is 19 and half the time, she doesn't know what to do or how to handle a situation. She gets flustered really easily. I talked to a security guard a few days ago, who thinks I should do security here next year. I told him I probably wouldn't get hired for that since I am a girl and he said that he would hire me at another lodge he works at for security! Maybe I will do that. It is in California! He is the head of security in California at Mammoth Lake and wants me to come.We'll see... I did laundry today too but when I went to transfer to the dryer, my clothes were soaked still. So I had to go through and ring them out before I put them in the dryer.

Days 105, 106, 107 and 108

I know I have said this before, but I am getting so bad at posting on the actual day stuff occurs. It would make each post so much more full but I am just getting lazy and bored with this.......

Day 105: I was supposed to get today off, but because I was sick the last two days, Emily had me come into Rapids. Good thing too, because Tony called in sick.... Lynx was apparently busy, but I wasn't there because it was my 'day off '. I came home and looked for apartments in Utah for a bit. I am leaning more towards renting a house with friends. I also talked to Ethan today for about 10 minutes. Ya, he actually had a conversation (as much as a three year old can have) with me! 

Day 106: Work was work today. It was a DEX day so slow.... After work, Trisha, Robert and I went on a mini hike. It was on a rope course because it got so steep. It was a nice little hike. No Sugarloaf or Wallowas..... I was glad I went. I am getting a bug for hiking again! It is exhausting in the beginning, but it gets so much easier as you go! After we got back to the Lodge, we had to wait for the shuttle so we had dinner at the EDR on property. Rudy has taken over it so the food is actually really good now. He made baked chicken breast, not soaked in butter, russet potatoes, not soaked in butter, and sauteed squash, also not soaked in butter! I was so thankful for a meal not soaked in butter! When I got home, Rudy text me and wanted a foot massage. I went down to his room and we were able to talk and just hang out. It was nice! I also found out that a couple got married tonight. Apparently, a foreigner paid a girl a bunch of money to get married so he could stay here.... golddigger.......

Day 107: Today was a very long day. I got off a two like always, but it just seemed to drag on and on and on and on..... It may just be that I am tired. I haven't had a nap in a really long time and I never really get much sleep. So I took a nap today when I got home and slept through dinner. That was fine with me because I hate food at homestead and I wasn't really hungry. I woke up around 9 for an hour or so, and then went back to sleep. 

Day 108: Today was alright. First of all, last night I kept getting text messages from Facebook about people tagging me in photos so I put it on alarm only. I shouldn't have done that because I got a text from Mary at around 1245am telling me the Northern Lights were out. I missed them. They should be out tonight so I am going to wake up in the middle of the night to see them! Work was slow at Rapids and Lynx was a disaster. I hate the stupid ice cream machine. It always explodes on me AFTER the ice cream has frozen. I have to clean it out then to put it back together and my arm always gets so cold! I got so mad about it today. After work, I went to Homestead and grabbed some stuff and went back to the canyon. Megan and I hiked Sugarloaf again today. We were going to do a photo shoot thingy, but ended up just hiking and taking a few snapshots. The pictures made me realize I really need to lose some weight. I noticed it on my other hikes photos, but these are just bad. I plan on hiking something everyday through the end of the season. I know I am hiking part of Mt. Healy next week for Mallory's birthday. I hope we do the whole thing and not just to the overlook. I am not as sore from this hike as I was last time. I am loving this. I know when I get home, dad wants to go to the Wallowas for a little bit. :) 23 days, 23 days, 23 days!
