Day 96, 97 and 98

Oh so lazy at this blog. Actually, I take that back, I am just so busy working and sleeping that I don't have time to blog everyday. Now I feel less guilty....

 Day 96: Today was a pretty awesome day. I bought my plane ticket home. I leave Alaska on the 22nd of September at 6am :) I arrive in Seattle at 1030am ish. I also discussed having Megan to come to Utah with me after Alaska. She is kinda excited and almost sure she is going.

The day had to have a bad part though... This morning, we were late closing at Rapids. We were about to leave at 930 and a lady came up. She wanted cereal. I told her we were closed. She demanded cereal. I told her I didn't have a bank available to help her but she could go to the other lodge. She got all butt hurt and started to rant about how she was going to complain to managers and crap. I said sorry. She then came back with ' I have a medical condition. I am a diabetic and I need to have something'. I offered her a juice that was unsellable since there was no label but she turned it down saying 'it would spike her sugars'. Ya, if she drank the whole thing. I eventually just gave her a cereal(Princess CEO's, if you are reading this, go ahead and fire me for giving a cereal away...) She was terrible.

Day 97: I stayed late at Lynx today. There was a huge party of 20 that I served. There was a $30 tip in it, but we split it, so although I did all the hard work, I get no recognition and no nice tip. I was scheduled until 2 and we were still busy, so I was doing dishes for them. I got yelled at by Jamie to leave and catch the bus even though it had already gone. Her attitude is terrible. I didn't get a nap today either....

Day 98: Sooooooooooo tired........... My neighbors were being loud again. I finally fell asleep though. We ran out of everything at Rapids today. It was terrible. A guy got really mad about us not having parfaits and I thought he was going to throw his oatmeal at me. He didn't though. When I got to Lynx, I was told that Kacie didn't show up.  I ended up having to work until 450pm. Which means 12.5 hours today! haha I am so tired. I work 4am tomorrow : / It is a DEX day which should make it so much fun.... NOT

Day 94 and 95

I am getting so lazy at this blog thing... almost done, and then i dont have to worry about it anymore.

Day 94: Work was slow. I came home, took a nap and went to bed. Boring I know, but thats the life of a hard working Alaskan-ish person....

Day 95: I slept in until noonish. I was lazy... I watched part of Shark Tale, read a bit, crocheted a bit, walked around a bit. Nothing too exciting. Of course.........

Day 92 and 93

I am sorry that I keep getting behind on my posts. It's hard to keep up with it when internet is so terrible!

Day 92: Worked..... Lynx was supposed to be slow because it was a DEX day, but no.... We got really busy right before I was supposed to clock off. Thankfully we got the people through the line quickly and I was only over a few minutes. I had a hair appointment at 115. I got it cut, thinned and dyed. It is a deep dark chocolate. I got 6-7 inches cut off and had it thinned too. It is so much lighter now(weight wise). I then decided to also get a pedi and my eyebrows waxed. It was a nice relaxing day!

After that, I took the bus home and got ready in 5 minutes, to catch the bus to go to dinner with Mallory. We ended up staying on property in the canyon for dinner. We went to the 'nice place'. It's called King Salmon. It was good. I haven't wanted steak in a while and I ordered it here. It was good. Her boyfriend was our server so he hooked us up with dessert and drinks (strawberry lemonade for me, wine for Mal). It was an awesome night!

Day 93: I was supposed to go to work today, but I was sick. I got a cold and my sinuses were and still are  killing me. I slept most of the day. Then watched a few more Faerie episodes with Anna. I couldn't really taste dinner so I didn't eat much.

Day 90 and 91

Day 90: I didn't have to come in until 5, but didn't remember and so I came in at 4. It wasn't too bad. Then I came home and took a nap. Dinner wasn't too bad. I finally went to bed around 930. I was awakened at 11ish by Preston calling me. He was reading me his mission call. I am so excited that he gets to go to Prague :) I am so proud of him and his choices he has made that has lead him to this. I am so thankful that he called me after mom and dad. I wasn't expecting that. I got a personalized call instead of a conference call with the siblings.

I am also thankful that he doesn't have to leave until November!

Day 91: I was awakened this morning at 3:10, 5 minutes before I normally get up, to the fire alarm going off outside my room. Apparently, someone in the Rec room left a bag of popcorn going too long. I was kinda mad. It was cold out and I had to rush back to my room to get ready after we were allowed back in. The moon and stars were out though. I haven't seen the moon in SOOOOOOOO long and this is the second time I have seen stars since I left home. The moon was barely up.

I got to work at the sunrise was so beautiful. It was freezing though. I noticed up here that the sun rises and stays at a low angle all day and "sets" almost in the same spot :) So weird.

Lynx was slow today. After work I bought gloves because it's so cold in the mornings. I went to dinner with Mallory and Anna. It was yummy. Did laundry.....

Day 89

Today was another fabulous day off! It has been very refreshing to have 2 full days in a row. One of those, was spent with a friend! Anna was so awesome to come up here and work! I'm glad she's here. We both slept until around noon and then got lunch. After that, we rented the DVD player and proceeded to watch 5 hours of Faerie Tale Theater. It was a day well spent. That's all we did today really. We also got dinner, but that goes without saying. Part way through dinner she got a phone call. I took that as an opportunity to go shower. Now I lay here, listening to the awesome yet strange sounds of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Soundtrack by Danny Elfman. I found out he is composing for the Hunger Games movie :) Should be good! Work tomorrow :/

42 days left! Well, 41 starting at midnight :)

Day 88

I had today off.  But, Emily forgot I had today off, and called me at 430 am. Once I informed her it was my day off, she hung up at I went back to bed until noon. I got a package from my mom. So after lunch I opened it. It was my Faerie Tale Theater and WGI DVDs I asked her to send me. I watched Snow Queen, Pied Piper, Puss in Boots and Cinderella. Then I went to dinner. After that, Trisha wanted to watch some WGI, so I rented the DVD player and watched the Independent and Scholastic A and Open World Championships from 2008. I wish I could perform still.

I text Dark Sexy today (yes I know you're reading this :) ) It was good to hear from her.  43 days left until I get to leave Alaska :) 9 days until my nephew Justin's first birthday! I miss Jub. I can't believe he is walking! I hope he isn't able to run away from me when I get back!

I really do like Alaska I have decided. In the middle of the lower 48's heat wave, we don't get above 50ish up here. I know OR/WA isn't more than 90, but that is too hot too! I keep wondering what a winter would be like up here. I know it would probably suck because it would be dark, cold and lonely, but I still wonder. I know some people who work up here are going to stay this winter, I'm not.

I found out that guard started today back home. Nobody seems to know who the coach is. Bell and Jessica from Band Boosters won't contact me to let me know. I need to give that person the Log-in info and password to not only to NWAPA, but Facebook, YouTube and the email account as well. I want to visit when I get back. Maybe Bell will give me a coaches pass to get into a competition. Who knows.....

Day 87

Last night I didn't actually set my alarm clock. I guess my body is just getting used to waking up, because I woke up at 245 without an alarm and got to work on time. I woke up early. Without an alarm. How awful is that?! I didn't think my body would actually acclimate to waking at 3. Both places were really really slow. I had fun at Lynx today though. Lots of laughing, playing and dancing :) I got off early and shipped a box to E just because I could! Then I caught the bus home. I ended up watching Splash as Anna took a nap. Then we talked and went to dinner.

I may go watch Ella Enchanted with Megan, Jessica and Jalene from Lynx soon. I just watched it a few days, but it would be nice to hang out outside of work.

I have the next 2 full days off. This is the first time in all 87 days, that I, Kylee Bahr, have had 2 FULL days off, and not just in a row, but ever! It is going to be great. I may go to the Spa on property and get a pedicure because I need it bad. I also want to get my hair done. Cut and color probably. I know I am going to sleep in a lot! I may wake up early to go breakfast with Anna....probably not though......

I may go to Fairbanks on Wednesday with Anna just cuz we both have the day off and there is a shuttle that day. Who knows.
